20% of the education budget in Indonesia

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Presidium of the Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI) Nanat Prof Fatah Natsir said high fees ranging from kindergarten to higher education does not reflect the education budget by 20 percent.

"With 20 percent of the education budget, education costs should be cheaper. However, now the cost of education in public universities are in fact owned by the government alone is expensive," said Fatah Natsir Nanat contacted in Jakarta on Friday.

However, the facts at this time, as 20 percent of the education budget has no correlation with the ability of the community in education. Cost of education in Indonesia is still expensive, especially when compared to some other countries.
"People today are still burdened with the cost of college education the country ranging from undergraduate to graduate," he said.
Therefore, with the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK), which abolished the status of Pioneering International School (RSBI) at a state school, Nanat encourage the government to develop a better quality of education but does not discriminate.
Previously, the Court granted the application for a number of parents and education activists to examine Article 50 paragraph (3) of Law No. 20 Year 2003 on National Education System who can not access education unit RSBI and International Standard School (SBI) because it is expensive.
